 Ford announces plans to invest over £15 million to almost double its productive capacity from 50 000 to 90 000 units per year.

1962 August
XL Falcon released

 75,753 produced; convex grille facelift,170 cid engine, Futura added. Firth and Jane win Armstrong 500 with XL Falcon. Falcon production reaches 100 000 units 27 months after introduction. £1.5 million National Parts Depot and offices opened at Broadmeadows, Victoria, Australia.

1963                         

 Ford announces a further £13.5 million expansion program.  
Ford Sales Company of Australia Limited established.

1964 February
XM Falcon released       

 47,103 produced; T-bird roofline facelift, 2-door hardtop, 200 cid engine.
 Expansion of Broadmeadows Assembly Plant completed.
 New £1 million head office building opened at Broadmeadows.

1965 March
XP Falcon released

 70,998 produced; squared off front. Fairmont introduced.

April

70 000 mile durability run at You Yangs proving ground.
Henry Ford II visits Australia for the first time.
XP Falcon wins Wheels Car of the Year award.
